Some people like me are wheel nerds and like a different year wheel on their cars (as manufacturers tend to update wheels every year even if the body style remains the same.) Lastly, you could buy a refurbished OEM set (again from a reputable place like, even from a different year, as long as the specs of the wheel are the same (size, width, backspacing, etc.). If your current wheels are chrome, it will be more to refinish them. It takes only a few days for all 4 to get done, looking brand new. Most do not repair/repaint wheels in house, but send them out to a specialized vendor with the proper equipment. (Good for pothole wheel damage and curb damage as well.)Īlmost any auto body shop could help you as well. I’ve used a few times (local to me) and they can make almost any wheel look brand new for $100-200 depending on the damage/finish. Get a quote to get your current wheels refurbished from a local wheel shop or online. Are there other specs that I need to know, e.g., bolt patterns, etc.? Any recommendations are welcome. Are there other options from other vendors that I should be considering, besides the OEM wheels? The tire size is 235/55-20. I have never experienced this type of problem before, and I know nothing about wheels. I have seen many types of 20" wheels advertised on various Internet sites for quite a bit less cost. To make matters worse, that model is currently unavailable, and we would have to wait maybe another 2-3 weeks to get them, if not longer. I'm reluctant to go in that direction because of the seemingly high price, and because they would be the same model of wheel that became corroded and pitted. The price would be a little over $2,000, plus tax and installation. The dealer wants to sell me an OEM replacement set. One of the wheels is so far gone that it is causing the tire to lose air, and it has to be checked / refilled with air regularly. All four of its original 20" wheels have become corroded and pitted, and need to be replaced.
